Description
Love, honesty, friendship, pain, betrayal, and many other emotions overwhelm us and make our souls yearn for solace, transforming from feelings into words, lines, and everything in between. These prose poems use imagery and metaphors to describe emotions one inevitably experiences at some point in life, with authenticity and candor. I hesitated before publishing these poems because of their closeness to my heart and the sincerity of the words, which I wanted to keep private.
However, I remembered that writing only becomes writing when it is shared without fear or secrecy, with openness and courage, even if people judge the writer harshly. Titles in this collection include "Boat," "Chance Abandoned Us," "Prisoner," "Betrayal," "White Cotton Candy," "Anesthesia," "Sealed Nectar," "So I Don't Float," "A Cup of Air," "Dancer," "Love," and "A Wave." The main poem, Boat, describes love for the beloved, culminating in the love of God, which all true love must ultimately reach.
You are bound to find yourself reflected in this collection, perhaps on one page or another, and it will cultivate within you a beautiful imagination that transforms everything we experience into endless beauty.
