Description
This novel is a classic in teenage literature. It was translated to other languages and took the same place in England as Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain did in America. This made the BBC produce it into two movies and a number of series, the last of which was Swallows and Amazons, 2016. Located in north west England, Lake district is the heart of this novel which is inspired by the writers memories and adventures. He actually opened it saying: This goes back to our childhood, my brothers and I spent most of our holidays in a farm south Consitone, where we played in the lake and on the hills, passing by farmers, shepherds and coal makers.
