Because our bibs are designed by moms for moms, we've traded out the traditional Velcro bib closure for a pair of nickel-free snaps. This improves the functionality of the bib immensely. In our experience, anything with opposable thumbs can separate Velcro, and a bib is pretty useless if the wearer can instantly pull it off. In contrast, our heavy duty snaps are difficult for your little one to pull apart. This is probably the main difference between snaps and Velcro bibs: one stays put and does its job, the other slides precariously to the floor.
