Description
Ahmed is a nine-year-old refugee who fled with his family from Syria, his hometown, when the war broke out. After a long and strenuous journey, Ahmed separated from his parents and ended up in England. He attended a school in London and was placed under an Englishwomans care. He barely spoke any English which resulted in some learning difficulties for him throughout his education. In addition, the language barrier also made him feel isolated. In spite of that, his classmates, Alexa and three of her friends, were persistent to form a friendship with Ahmed especially after the class teacher asked him to tell his story. Ahmeds four friends put together several plans in order to find his parents and ended up successfully executing Alexas idea. Even though Alexa put herself in a bit of a risky situation, she was able to reach the press and share Ahmeds story along with other refugees stories in the newspapers. Alexa's plan worked and Ahmed's parents were found. They agreed to reunite as a family and live together in England. This marvelous adventure culminated in an invitation from the Queen to Ahmed and his friends to have tea with her Majesty at Buckingham Palace.
