Description
The Breadwinner is a story based out of Afghanistan, where we might not know that Qassem, the boy from whom we bought a box of matches, is in fact Parvana, the girl who disclosed her identity to earn what she could with her masculine identity. There, where people dig up their grandparents' graves to sell their bones, orphans and men sell up their wives' prosthetic legs! However, a light beam sends gifts to Parvana and in return she plants a flower in the market. The old man says, even if it looks withered, its roots will strengthen. Just like Parvana, who finds with her friend after 20 years in Paris and not in the refugee camp!
