Silverette® Cups are small, pure 925 silver nursing cups designed to be worn between breastfeeding sessions to prevent and soothe nipple pain, cracks, cuts, and inflammation. They work using the natural healing properties of silver, eliminating the need for creams or chemicals. The patented anatomical shape of Silverette® Cups fits any nipple size without compression, making them comfortable and easy to use. They are the only cups of their kind sold in Italy, Europe, and globally. When determining your size, focus on your areola diameter, as this is where the cups rest. The Regular (M) size is suitable for those with a bra size of C or less and an areola diameter of under 4.6 cm. The XL size is recommended for bra sizes above C or an areola diameter of 4.6 cm or more. If your measurements fall between the two categories, go with your areola size as the main guide. If pregnant or on the cusp, it’s best to size up, since breasts and areolas usually enlarge once milk comes in. Still, the Regular size remains a one-size-fits-most option, and if it’s working for you, there’s no need to switch.
To use, place a few drops of breast milk in each cup after feeding and position them over the nipples like a cupping glass. Keep them on between feeds and remove them before nursing. Do not combine Silverette® Cups with other nipple creams or treatments, as this can reduce their effectiveness. The cups adhere naturally to the breast, offering optimal comfort while preserving the natural shape of the areola, thanks to years of research and a uniquely rounded peak that fits comfortably.
Silverette® Cups can also be used preventatively to stop nipple damage before it starts. Silver is a natural antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal metal with a long history in wound care. Made from 925 silver—the purest form of silver that can be molded—Silverette® Cups contain no nickel and maintain their efficacy over time, even with repeated use. They can be reused for multiple breastfeeding journeys and are compatible with absorbent breast pads, which should be placed over the cups and held in place by your nursing bra.
To clean the cups, simply rinse them daily with warm water. For added shine, polish with a paste made from baking soda and a small amount of water.
