Description
In Islam, we are constantly taught to think of others, not just ourselves. When we recite Surah Al-Fatihah in our prayers, we are not just supplicating for ourselves, but rather using the collective ‘we’ in our du’a. Prophet Mohammed (SAW) said, “The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy are like one body. When one of the limbs hurts, the whole body reacts with wakefulness and fever.” We must look past our own interests and look to the needs of everyone else. Only then can we come together as a community, motivated towards action.
