KAPLA is an original construction game with endless possibilities. Simple and fun to play, KAPLA is based on the use of a single unit, aLandes pine plank. To play, simply place the planks on top of each other, without any fasteners, to generate an infinite number of structures. These can include towers, bridges, houses, animals and all sorts of extra ordinary structures and creatures. Created by Tom van der Bruggen in 1987, KAPLA has had builders playing for generations.
KAPLA is a children’s game for ages 2+, but there’s nothing childish about it: it grows with the person who plays it. From teenagers to adults and architects, it generates infectious enthusiasm and mobilises all there sources of the mind. KAPLA can be played individually or in groups and allows people to play together, whatever their age or culture.
KAPLA is also an educational tool used by the French National Ministry of Education in nurseries and primary schools to teach children basic notions of geometry, physics and technology. KAPLA also develops dexterity, patience, perseverance, a sense of balance, and concentration.
