Even if your baby is only a month old, get a size 3-6 months because the focus is on wrapping the arms, and the bottom is comfortable. The difference in length is important so the baby isn't bothered by being too small underneath. The fabric is cool cotton, not heavy or stuffy, and the fastening is very strong; you can tighten or loosen it as you like.
