I have both before the same monitor but with the parent unit it works excellent but when I bought this alone so I can cover much bigger area of my house I had so much trouble connecting it to them parents unit until now. I didn't figure out how I can connect to the parent unit and the button in front of the camera the two way button doesn't work.!!! and the support team of the brand it's horrible didn't give me any help
